Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of undecorticated sunflower seed meal on the performance of broiler. Six experimental diets were prepared which were isocaloric and isonitrogenous. A total of 432 one day old unsexed Lohman chicks were weighed and allocated to six treatments having three replicates. Results indicated that incorporation of sunflower seed meal had no significant (P<0.05) effects on feed intake, live weight gain, feed conversion ratio, mortality, hot and chilled dressing percentages. It was concluded that addition of sunflower up to 15% to replace groundnut cake had no harm or undesired effects.
